This is a method just in case you forgot the passcode lock on your iPhone or iPod touch. it involves to erase everything thats in your phone and back into factory settings. it is a very simple process to do if you follow the steps

.connect the iphone or ipod touch to the computer

.let the device sync with the computer until finish

.when that is finished take your iphone or ipod touch and hold the power and home button at the same time

.when the screen goes black release the power button and continue to hold the home button

.when you see the itunes logo on the mobile device or hear a sound on the computer release the home button

.go and see the computer screen and check if the computer has the device in recovery mode

.if so you will see an option where you can restore the device

.click the restore button

.you will be prompt to click on restore and update just go ahead and do so

.the phone will begin the restore process (this may take some time)

.after that is finished check on the computer screen to see if there is a start as a new iphone or from a backup

.choose the restore as a new iphone option

.then new your device to your choosing and options to automatic sync contacts and applications

.you are good to go on the computer set-up part of the process

.next on your mobile device and begin the set-up process

.choose your home wifi network

17. then follow the prompts on the screen to finish the set-up process

.for a quick process choose to skip the sign in with a apple id part of the process

.finish up the set-up process on your mobile device

.your are now set to good and ready to use the iPhone or iPod touch!
